The Calgary Spring Football Association (CSFA) is comprised of two divisions - the Hopkins Division and the Durante Division.
Many involved with the CSFA (Players, Coaches, Managers, Parents) are referring to the Hopkins Division as the “Junior Division” and the Durante Division as the “Senior Division”. The CSFA Board discourages the use of the terms “Junior” and “Senior” when referring to the two divisions.
The Hopkins and the Durante divisions are not comprised of “age” related players but rather “skill” related players. Referring to the divisions as “Junior” and “Senior” provides an erroneous perception of the reality of the two divisions.
Playing in the Hopkins Division or the Durante Division means playing against athletes similar in skill and has nothing to do with the athletes’ age.
Therefore, the CSFA Board encourages all Spring coaches, players, parents, managers, and anyone involved in the CSFA, to refer to the two divisions and the Hopkins Division and the Durante Division and not the Junior Division and the Senior Division.
Please do so to avoid misconceptions of the reality of the matter.
Both Divisions have a regular season and playoff games with a City Championship which earns the team their trophy and title.
Thank You. Calgary Spring Football Association Board
